This service is operated by Adventureful ("we," "our," or "us"), the publisher of the Adventureful family activity tracker available at family.adventureful.net.

Overview

Adventureful is a family activity tracking application designed to help children develop healthy habits under parental supervision. We are committed to protecting the privacy of children and their families. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how parents can manage or delete their family's data.

🔒 COPPA Compliance Notice

Adventureful is designed for use by children under the age of 13 under direct parental supervision. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without verifiable parental consent. A parent or legal guardian must create the family account and add their children. By creating a family account and confirming the consent checkbox at signup, the parent provides verifiable consent for their children's use of the app.

Information We Collect

Parent account information

Email address and password used to create the family account. We use this for authentication only.

Child's profile

A display name chosen by the parent. We do not collect the child's real name, date of birth, email, or any contact information.

Activity data

Session records including activity type, start time, duration, and points earned. This data is tied to the family account and visible only to family members.

Family messages

When the messaging feature is used, the free-text content of messages a parent or child sends to other members of the same family. Messages are visible only to family members and are auto-deleted 7 days after they are sent. No message text is included in push-notification payloads.

Screen-time check-in

For child profiles only, the number of seconds the kid is actively using the app outside of an activity session each day. This data powers a gentle reminder banner on the kid surface; it is never used to block the child. The parent sets the threshold per kid in family settings. Daily rows auto-delete after 30 days.

Device data

Push notification tokens (if enabled by the parent) to deliver reward approval notifications. We do not use these for advertising.

How We Use Your Information

  • To operate the activity tracking and reward features of the app
  • To authenticate family members and enforce data isolation between families
  • To send push notifications about reward approvals (if enabled)
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties
  • We do not use children's data for advertising or marketing purposes
  • We do not use behavioral tracking or analytics on children's accounts

Data Storage & Security

All data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL), a SOC 2 Type II compliant infrastructure provider. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Row-level security policies ensure that each family can only access their own data — no family can view another family's information.

Parental Rights & Controls

As a parent, you have the right to:

  • Review all data associated with your family account at any time
  • Edit or delete your child's display name
  • Delete your entire family's data by contacting us
  • Withdraw consent and close your account at any time
  • Request a copy of all data we hold about your family

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@adventureful.net

Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain family data for as long as the account is active.

When the last parent deletes their account (the “Delete account” action in profile settings), your avatar images are deleted immediately and your login access is removed. Children's profiles, activity sessions, points, redemptions, goals, and screen-time history are preserved in an orphaned state to allow recovery. Anyone who has your family's unique ID can rejoin the family by signing up for a new account and entering that ID in the join-family flow, thereby restoring full access to the preserved data.

If you wish to permanently and irrecoverably delete all family data — including all children's profiles, activity history, and reward records — please contact us. We will perform a full deletion within 30 days.

Family messages have a shorter retention window: any message older than 7 days is automatically and permanently deleted by a scheduled job. A parent may also clear every message in their family on demand from the Messages screen.

Screen-time check-in daily rows are auto-deleted after 30 days by a scheduled job.
